mk 6 transit rattle

Had the van for a coulple of months 02 280 100 when i start it it rattles for a couple of seconds,is this normal,it runs great and starts first time.thanks jay

timing chain tensioner failure on the 2.0 engine is a much rarer fault than on the 2.4 engine for some reason.

The noise you describe does sound like the oil pressure getting round to the tensioner and or the hydraulic tappets.

when was it's last oil change and what grade of oil was used?

I used dura torq oil 5/30 i think by valvoline,but i think the previous oil change was about 15000 miles ago.Its got a full service history by ford but the milages between services seem very high.JAY
