Unknown wires

Postby sc_BK » Wed Jun 13, 2007 4:51 pm

Went underneath to replace the horn (is sounding squeeky and worn out) and right by it there's 2 wires hanging loose that have been rather crudely taped together.
They come down in the same protective sleeve as the horn wires, one is orange/yellow the other red/yellow.

Any ideas what they're for?

No plug.......someones just taped them up with some red tape
Did think they could be front fogs but couldn't see any matching wires on the other side.

Are the front fogs turned on with the rear? ie so if I flick the rear fog switch these wires would be live?

No they don't if you don't have front fogs then you don't have the switch but the wires are often there anyway.

Fog lamp plugs have green with white tracer and black wires.
Those colours sound like indicator / repeater lamps :?:

Ok cheers

Swear one of the horn wires looked like the same colours as one of the unkown wires :?

It's X reg SWB med roof 75 ps....if anyone with a simillar model (or maybe any mk6) could lie down on their drive for 2 secs with a torch and see if they had the same wires (and what they go to) then that'd be 8)
