Mk6-7 FWD rear spring hangers

Postby dieselhead123 » Mon Jun 13, 2016 10:00 am

We were recently contacted by a member requiring these parts, he kindly included an image of the required part;

We have been asked for this part many times before, it is not available 'off the shelf' from any pattern panel distributor, so now seemed an opportune time to develop this, in the pictures below you see the end result;

These parts are produced from three individual 'profiles', folded and assembled to produce left or right 'hand' parts. The differences are minimal so the parts can easily be modified to provide 'universal' fitment.

We hope to have a member 'test' these parts and provide feedback as regards 'fit' and 'ease of installation', thus providing us with an opportunity to 'fine tune' the part before offering it for general sale.

What do you think chaps?

Happy to produce other parts members are likely to need, subject to our 'equipment capabilities'.
If you post up a picture or the effected area on your van we will do our best for you.

All our parts are copied from Transits we have dismantled recently, we cut out the part we are looking to produce from a scrap van then use it to 'pattern' the replacement. Happy to supply parts at an initial discount to forum members in return for feedback.

Hello N, thanks for your interest and support.
PM me the part numbers of you injectors an I will see what we can do. We deal with a Delphi wholesaler for many or our EPIC pump parts so I see no reason why we will not be able to assist with your injectors.

We have just had an initial order placed for these spring hanger parts, so hopefully we will have some feedback for you all by the end of this month.

The next time we 'cut up' a FWD Transit I will salvage some other cross-member and chassis parts with a view to producing additional items.

If any of you have suggestions please let me know.

Just had some positive feedback regarding these spring hanger repair sections :D

These were fitted to the members van by a professional vehicle repairer who described them as 'excellent'.

These will now be available to members at £45 each side plus postage, (please specify the side you need).
These parts will be exhibited at the forthcoming Transitmania show.

Are these 'slip overs' or replacement?

Replacements, as slip overs would only cover the rust/rot which would be a stupid idea :shock: . The only way to cure rust/rot is to cut it out and replace with new metal as this product does. :D. Great job by the way Tim these hopefully will save a few transits from the scrapper. 8)

Thanks for your comments people.

These parts are intended as replacements, all our replacements parts are manufactured so as to be as accurate as possible, (given the limitations of the facilities available to us), to the original.

In time to come Mk6/7 will inherit 'classic' status, at that point installers of our products will demand a high level of 'visual accuracy' so important in classic vehicle restoration.

Over time we will be producing other Mk6/7 parts so any of you that have suggestions or would like to 'trial' new products please let me know.

Hi people, been asked to produce some other parts to supplement these, namely the rear spring shackle plates and the short box section that fits between these and the inner rear valence.
Here are some pictures;

Once again, these parts have been 'copied' from a section removed from a dismantled van, every effort has been made to ensure their accuracy.

Two sets of these are on their way to a customer who has offered to provide feedback, once any slight 'corrections' have been made following our customers 'testing' these part will become available for general sale.
