Corner of Bonnet catching on Plastic Trim

Postby ME » Tue Jul 03, 2007 10:17 pm

When i lift my Bonnet the o/s corner catches the black plastic trim that covers the edge of the Windscreen. It has bent the corner of the Bonnet and knocked the Paint of

Is this Common ?

Is it covered under the warranty ?

if its a mk6 its common, you need to lube the hinges, i use an oil can with flexy spout and pump engine oil on the hinges as you work the bonnet up and down, there always doing it  a lot of mk6"s you dont need to use the bonnet prop, it stays up on its own  As you lift the bonnet the hinges distort and the bonnet connects with the trim :)

That's a pretty stupid thing to say! As Geoff has said above if it's a Mk6, that was the reason I asked!!!!!!!!!
