will mk5 roofracks (not bars) fit on a mk6, some companies list the same part number for both, but i have been told they are different, if so how different are they?

It all depends on makes, some will fit and some wont.

thats right Mike, the mk6 has a wider roof, so check that the roof bars allow the mounts to move out a few inches more to be able to fit the mk6 :D
