POOR STARTING

Postby jasons » Sat Jul 14, 2007 9:45 am

Ive noticed a difference in the way my 02 swb fwd 2.0 diesel is starting. It used to fire on the button hot or cold. Its now turning over alot before it starts, when it starts it runs fine and drives as normal.I changed the fuel filter a while back so dont think its that.Hope someones got some ideas what this fault is and the cure as its a bit annoying.thanks jason

i had a ex newspaper delivery van (same spec as yours ) & the inlet was was really coked up & it took ages to start.. decoked the manifold but was still v.poor starter.

It was a wiring break in the end , stoppin power getting to the glow plugs. on the button now, but low power no doubt due to the head still being coked up.

well if diesel can get out, air can get in - you're probably suffering a bit of drain back - did you fix the leak?

Ive put another fuel filterhousing on it today seems better but the test will be in the morning.Do they suffer from filter housings letting in air because all the symtons are like the fuel is draining back. Thanks Jay
