Sorry to knock your thread but just wondering is not t a big job to swap a 5 speed fwd for a 6spd fwd mk7 2.2 57 plate? Not that I probably ever will but just wondering if that's just a straight bolt off, bolt on swap?

right got all the right bits gearbox, prop, gearstick but going to fit a new clutch and flywheel as its different to the 5 speed one but everywhere I have phoned wants to know the reg number of the vehicle that the gearbox came from as there is different ones but I don't know it as I brought it from a breakers yard and all they could tell me was they think it from a 115 bhp and I need a dual mass flywheel but the clutch supliers are saying there are 3 different ones ?, anybody ????

As far as I know about the 6 speed rwd boxes in the Mk 7 , is from 2006 one box then in 2008 some internals changed ,but box will still fit also in 2008 a 2nd box produced for the 3.2 with a bigger bellhousing to accommodate a bigger clutch this gearbox will fit the 2.4 if you have the longer bolts but the 2.4 gearbox will not fit 3.2 if you want to keep the original clutch ,but you could fit the smaller clutch I guess, whether it will handle the power I don't know, then when the euro 5 engine came out the 3.2 gearbox was fitted to all rwd vans
