Well it hasn't cured it totally, but only had a stage 1 map, from 85 to approx 110 bhp, but!! it has really cut down the black smoke when I boot it.....???

I am interested to know if the injector pilot setting needs a special procedure to do the learning. I meanwhile reset the learned parameters for the injector pilot setting twice. For me, this helped to reduce judder. But what is the best method for learning? I didn't see a learning option in Forscan.
Kind regards,
Ronald

Its under Service Procedures. I'm using v2.3.16 of Forscan.

That is where the reset of the pilot injection learned parameters is done. I have been there, done it. I posted the question as I was looking for something similar to this: https://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1353#p1353
Kind regards,

Interestingly.... after replacing my 2 dodgyish batteries with to nice big new ones... I have done 20 miles without noticing any part load flutter.

Is it luck?
Is it because the PCM was cleared of drive cycle data??
IS it because battery voltage is now stable???
Is it cured????

God knows, giving it another 70 miles mixed driving before I get hopefull

Yep, see viewtopic.php?f=54&t=101335
I did a reset of the learned parameters using Forscan, via the OBDII connector. Had the same effect.

Yes, after a while it did. About a year later. Did a new reset, which again solved the problem.

My 2.2 Euro 5 does the same thing.

How long do you need to keep the battery disconnected for to reset drive cycles?

TBH I would not have expected a modern vehicle to lose the data from a battery disconnect, but I guess anything is worth a try.

I was changing to a Leather wheel at the time which was a ball ache, it was left 20 mins disconnected before I even started. The total down time was probably an hour.

tried it.... guess what.... didn't make a difference

disconnected battery, earthed the positive lead as per previous attachment for an hour, had to reset radio etc, so assumed it was long enough.

I *think* that this might have worked for me. It's not completely sorted, but it seems to have helped.
