I've not replaced the sensor on mine, but it gets cleaned once a year when I service the van, hasn't made any difference, BUT I might try replacing it next time.
As it monitors manifold pressure and temp, I wonder if it's becoming less sensitive through age and not responding to the actual pressure changes quick enough??
Just been looking at MAF sensors too, they're not to dear either, wonder if it be worth swapping this too?
I also did wonder if it could be anything to do with winter additives in diesel too if they still put them in??
Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Sensors are cheap and easy to do.

Interesting idea about winter diesel. This suggests that winter diesel is required by law in the colder months https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_ ... prov=sfla1

I don't think it's Winter diesel, mine has been doing this for months, well before Winter.

Do you have a link, or a part number for the sensors :?:

A bit of Googling turns up these as the MAP and MAF sensors. Can someone here (Martyn please help!) confirm whether these are the right ones? And whether they're likely to be at fault?

The MAP & MAF sensors rarely fail, but not impossible I guess.

I've got two vans the same. One does it one doesn't.
I'm in the process of swapping items one at a time to see if I can narrow down the fault. Rather than swapping out and fitting new I should hopefully be able to transfer the fault for a better confirmation of the culprit if it's an external sensor rather than a physical component of the engine.

As my way it don't expect it to be a quick process was ill give each item a while to test.

First item was throttle pedal.
Result? No change so far!

If anyone is going to solve this issue, it's Arthies. Not many of us have the luxury of being able to swap parts! I don't think I'd be popular around the house if another van showed up...

thing is, it's wife's van that's doing it so it's not really bothering me right now

I just came here to ask the same thing. I've done a pump and pilot learn. No dice. Also, we're now in summer diesel time, so I think we can rule that out.

I changed two injectors and it's running fine.
Can't remember what readings made me change them but defo something in the live data caught my eye that made me try it though wasn't enough to categorically condemn them but enough of a question mark to warrant trying a change.

Interesting. I'll have to get Forscan on it. Last time I looked all seemed fine, but I guess I've only looked at fuel rail pressure.

How did you work out which injectors need changing? I wouldn't be surprised if one of mine is a bit goosed due to the previous owner not putting a copper washer under #1!

First would be a leak off test. Checking how much fuels coming back out the top to go back to tank.
Then check live data and injector related options as can't remember what options are available or best ones to use.
Your looking for anything that doesn't look right. Not much help but get some readings then Google them and see what comes up.

Ok cool thanks Arthies. A leak-off test is definitely the place to start, isn't it.... and not too tricky.

I'll put in on the "big list of jobs" :)

Mine had a judder at mid revs, when accelerating. I replaced the n/s driveshaft and that judder has totally gone.
