I see loads of ppl on Facebook getting dpf deleted and removed etc and egr so it seems testers either don't mind or there are ways to get around it.

Hey Paul,
Wasn’t sure how to get in touch with you other than a response on your post. I acquired your name from a ford transit connect forum because I am wanting to do a manual swap in a US transit connect. I know everything bolts up but there is issue with the ecu. I was wondering if the coding can be changed to have it read a manual trans??? Thanks in advance if you get this. You can also email me if you’d rather at bpundai@gmail.com

there used to be a rule regarding fitting of engine that where never fitted to uk vehicle and therefor didn't require meeting UK emissions requirements as they had never had a uk emissions rating, going by the new rules my 03 lpg/petrol transit will have to meet 03 emissions when my new engine goes in, but the engine was never fitted of available in the UK, so not sure if i will have to comply with 03 emissions or not

Hi there Looty :-) Long time no speak.

A very close friend of mine put a blanking plate in his EGR ;-) and someone :-) coded it out for him. Never threw any errors or had any problems with the test and as it was rear wheel drive it was pretty near impossible to see.

Hi Mike how's things? Last I heard, you were thinking of getting rid of tango, I read your recent post about the fuel pump :(

Is it a mk7 2.4 140ps?

Anyway I hope you get it sorted.

Possibly but the emissions I assume will be cleaner/lower in theory on a 2.0 transit engine over a 3.0l bmw engine? Maybe, maybe not.

Years ago I approached the DVLA about swapping my then wheels a fiesta with a 1.4 tddi diesel for a newer low emissions fiesta diesel engine , hence low emissions , lower tax band , they said No , its still taxed as the original vehicle , so , if you put a Dodge viper 10ltr engine in a Transit 2.0 donor vehicle will it still be taxed as a 2.0 Transit ?

Ved or tax is a funny thing, older vehicles are taxed on age/engine size/emissions newer vehicles are taxed on value (I believe anyway) a friend of mine bought a new bmw 320 with the extras it came to just over £40k, apparently his yearly tax is around £600 (can’t remember exactly what he said it was) he was livid as if he’d have known that he would have got the 330 or bigger, I think the tax on value is something to do with EV’s as they can’t tax emissions on them, correct me if I’m wrong.

My old 26 year old bmw 1.6 was £365 a year tax whereas my daughter 08 sx4 1.6 was only £145 a year to tax, figure that out.

Unless it's been changed, VED "bands" aren't the same on commercials.
My little Fiesta 1.4 Diesel van was the same amount of money as my Transit, whereas the car version of the Fiesta with the same engine was a lot cheaper.
The five cylinder 200ps LWB Transit was the same as my 4 cylinder 85ps SWB.

The one that really annoys me is that my 2012 Focus 1.6 Diesel has a £20 VED because of it's very low emissions, yet isn't ULEZ compliant, whereas my son's Ford Edge with it's bigger diesel engine, and much higher emissions (and fuel consumption) can travel free in the zone :?

I got a fine for driving through Bath with my 2.4 2009 mk7 , I didnt even see the signs , explain how London scrappage scheme works , You scrap a car , which involves shed loads of emissions , crushing it , collection of scrap car by Large Truck , disposal of parts , etc , then replace it with a new vehicle which involves even more emissions to make the car , import the car by Large container vessel , transport car by truck to dealership etc , plus they pay you for scrap car , why not scrap old car , get paid , buy old car , then daughter scraps old car , get paid , buy old car , then son scraps old car gets paid ?
