I just sold a pipe and nut brand new for £40 a couple of weeks back
What's the chances I can just replace the nut and fitting?

Seemd to work ok for the 2-3 hour drive back home. But it's not that expensive or that hard to replace the pump too. I do a lot of miles a long way from home.

I've replaced the full hi pressure hose and pipe, which comes in a complete set, and the special nut. It was a messy job, but fairly easy to get to with the drivers side wheel removed. It took about 800ml of fluid.

There's some juddering in the steering, I think because of air in the system, will that dissipate over time or do I need to bleed it like brakes?

The most common way is remove the cap and turn full lock to
full lock a few times

For followup if anyone else is reading this, I replaced the high pressure hose and the nut that goes into the power steering pump. Took about 900ml of powersteering fluid.

have driven over 1k miles since and no leaks.

mine just blown, how do you put the end of the pipe in the steering rack bit i can see some bolts, is it just a case of undoing them and put the hose in then put the plate back on then the bolts?

Yes, there is a single bolt is between the two pipes.
Once the bolt is removed the pipes pull out of their holes.
You can't put them back in the wrong holes because they are different sizes.
The torque for the bolt is 23Nm.
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD
mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small
