I will 3rd that, I think its illegal to fit them but ok if the vehicle already has them

Last time I heard, ( was a few years ago now)

I think its the other way around, It is illegal for a dealer to supply a vehicle with one on but its fine if you buy and fit one yourself

Illegal to fit but not illegal to sell (yet).

Only applies to vehicles first registered after the 25th May 2007 :(

Got hell of a deal there chap he aint gonna be to happy when he realises he's put the price wrong :oops: :lol: should buy few more and put um back on ebay and make yourself £200 :lol:

Actually, they are illegal to sell if they do not have an EU certificate of conformity.
If you buy and fit one, you will not get done, if however you are unfortunate enough to kill or injure someone with your van with one on, the seller could be in deep doodoo. Plus if you didn't tell your insurance company, you might find yourself in trouble too.
Any vehicle registered after may 25th 07 may ONLY be fitted with an approved bar. If you have a vehicle with one on registered before may 25th 07 you don't have to take it off. I would however be wary of people who tell you it is not illegal to sell them.
