Stuck the girl on the laptop today, and I have a fault code C1A93:14-2B which is open or short to ground, on rear right ABS sensor. Just picked up a replacement sensor, and when its stops hoofing it down with rain, Ill replace it.

Bad bit was I noticed the rear frame is rotten through, and falling apart. Looks like this old crates going to have to go...

Just a note to anyone having this issue, even a hairline fracture in an abs ring can cause it to stop working. Have a more close/careful look as they can be hard to spot.

Yes, replaced the rear right sensor, and bingo, the ABS and TC lights are now out. ABS now works, and I found it was a wire on the connector plug, that the insulation was still in tact, but the copper wire had broken internally.

Only downside was the bolt holding the sensor on the hub sheered, so I'll have to revisit at some time and drill/tap the bloody thing out. Although, I may just not bother.

Thanks , I've had mine down to a Ford Garage ( I'm in France so not so many ) . Told me the fault code - same as above . Then told me it needed a new ABS sensor - about 1800 Euros plus another 1000 for work !!!!! , I didn't let on I knew what the code was and asked about the sensors , was told they'd been checked an were working !!! I contacted a company in Germany who were VERY helpful and the guy said the code wouldn't indicate an ABS fault and he was sure the ABS wasn't the problem . I checked the resistance today as per You tube clip seems to be showing 31 on rear right , 45 on rear left , 45 on front right and 31 on front left ??? So inconclusivs and waiting for a new sensor before pulling the ABS module off to get it repaired - BTW can anyone recommend what diagnostic / code reader scanner I need for 2009 Transit 2.4 AWD ??
Seems just having a took box full of spanners isn't enough nowadays !!

I used IDS, and put up a graph display showing the feedback from all wheels. One had no output. Plus, the code said which one was faulty...

Got one on order but won't get it till Tuesday earliest , in meantime I checked the resistance on all the wheel sensors from sensor to connection plug -- ( to be honest I just did it the way a mate told me with his sensor -I know nowt about elactrickery ! ) Came back with 31 on rear right , 45 on rear left , 31 front left and 45 front right ( I night have the front ones the wrong way round ) . I expected them all to be the same except the rear right ( error code is for that one ! ) .
BTW anyone recommend a diagnostic tool to use ?? ask elsewhere and was suggested 327Elm with switch ???

Yep, Forscan, (free to download for PC), and a "Modified" ELM-327 will see you sorted.

Just an Update on my 4x4 . Changed rear right sensor and ABS worked for a day then light came on again , sprayed connection with WD40 and now working again so recon it was always just a bad connection issue , have connected the 4x4 system to a switch with 15 amp fuse so t doesn't rely on the sensors , just turn it on or off -NB I asked the Ford garage if that could be done and they didn't give an answer ( f*** ). I've put in a complaint against the garage ( which is in Nice France ) via customer services in GB - waiting a response . It looks like the garage did ''work'' I didn't ask for -- a 23 point check ????
