Mk 7 time to get rid

Postby Niall » Thu Aug 02, 2007 3:17 pm

The latest of a long line of Transits has proved to be a flop and i just cant put up with it any longer.
Sublime green swb low roof 110ps 260lx with rubber in the back and towbar, reg dec 2006 with 8k on the clock.
What do you think its will stand at private sale/trade/trade in?

This is my 12th transit and i suppose i was spoiled by my last one,a mega 125ps mk6.
Good performance, nice ride, the things the mk7 hasnt got imho.

Dont know what i will look at next, when you have had the blue oval for over 20 years it seems strange to have to look elswhere :?

I buy a new van every 2 years and its only for towing a rally car around and delivering scooters and motorbikes.
So going to a mk 6 again is not a option.
Going to have a go in a LWB version soon, the dealer is going to make me a very special offer!!

SORRY GUYS but i know a few mates who have got them and they love um ,having said that if u go on there forum they get just as many problems wiv their vans as we do so i'm thinkin they're all much of a muchness, but the 174's still go like the proverbial sh-t off a shovel :!: :x

Speaking as a non blinkered Transit owner and also as someone who has run commercial vehicles for over 30 years I thought I would put in my two-peneth. I drive all my vans as an owner driver and the best van I have ever owned was the Renault Traffic and the new ones are very good indeed mine did over 160K passed every MOT without incident and never broke down. I really like the Mk6 I currently run but it did break down on me the other day and as such it is on probation for the next 5 years. I work on the policy that if a van ever lets me down I won't buy another Citroen Relays are not good and have let me down. Recently I hired a Renault Master (while the Transit had a new pump fitted) which goes like a rocket so they may be worth trying

I hear what you are saying on this TTD, however they have one huge flaw - they're French.

I used to have a Sprin**r (1998 model 210 MWB) and that was quick etc., however I think the Mk6. is way ahead of that.

My work van is a reno bag of sh** master has done 21,000 miles has had diesel and oil leaks. The engine went after 7,000 miles a gear box after 2,000 sh*t to drive but it does stop very well. My own transit had a water pump under warranty and is brilliant.
