Yours sound more like clutch judder :?

Ok Altransit, I've googled it and what I found is possibilities of oil or crud getting into the clutch. Wonder if it is anything to do with the work recently carried out... Or just a coincidence...

Hey Andz :D

Just checked the invoice - "Remove vacuum pump, clean and refit, clean engine." This was something at the top of the engine, and also involved draining then refilling the radiator fluid. It was hoped this would stop an oil leak. (It didn't).

Yes, the van is the same back of bones that I have in my profile.

Usual clutch judders with transits is due to dual mass flywheel starting to fook up unaccompanied by noises but yours will have a solid flywheel so it won't be that, so your looking at your oil leak to contaminate the the clutch driven plate, this is usually worse first thing after van was sitting with oil dripping onto one section of the driven plate , how bad is the oil leak as it takes quite a bit to cause this on a clutch in my experience, have you checked wiring around the injectors , and map sensor ( nearly always ckoked with crud)and maf sensors etc as these auld tubs wires get hardened/brittle and break if you or someone has been in pulling wires about to repair stuff, also on the fwd the white/clear fuel plastic fuel pipe can get rubbed thru by a rubber pipe and develop a small hole so check for air

Thanks Andz.

It transpired that it juddered so badly on the way to work this morning that I pronounced it broken down. But I later got it to my latest mechanic. He said it was not anything to do with the clutch, and his diagnostics pointed to a faulty cam shaft sensor, which he duly changed this afternoon. He wasn't 100% sure that it would fix it, but he was confident. The old one came out covered in iron filings. Anyway, on the way home after that it still juddered a bit. Does such a fix take time to "settle down"?

The judder returns, it's back again. Looks to be an annual occurrence

As usual it's intermittent, but I have noticed that it only happens the first time the engine warms up to temp.

A good, long drive seems to clear the fault, and it won't reoccur until it's been sat cold and needs to get back up to temp again.

I've also noticed that when cold the engine can be particularly "knocky" around the 1500rpm mark, the same ballpark rpm that sometimes triggers the judder/lurch.

A fuel system/injector relearn on Forscan solves it for 10-12months it seems. So looks to be a software/fuelling issue?

No permanent fix yet, but sharing updates in the hope that long term we might find a solution...

I had a very slight leak from the fuel line going into the pump for as long as I can remember. It got slightly worse (to the point of it leaving the occasional small puddle underneath) so changed it.

It may just be a coincidence but it hasn’t juddered once since.

me also, same thing, 2012 euro 5, does seem to improve when warmed up. I did over the weekend put blanking plate on egr, it seems to have improved things quite a bit but it still happens but not as often and not as bad, it was really pissing me off as most of my work is poodling around locally. It seems quite a common subject on here but with no real conclusive answers. i might buy a forskin,, i mean forscan and see what comes up when driving

Anyone who has the judder at 1500-1700rpm, has even tried to turn the cruise controll on?
I am having the same symptoms at these specific rpm but when I press the cruise control, juddering stops and van cruises just fine.

I blanked the EGR, Judder got worse.

Graphed up the MAF and EGR readings and they're all over the place.

Got a new EGR to fit this weekend and also cleaning out the inlet, if that fails then new MAF.

Mines worse in the cold, it's almost undrivable.

Checked all the boost pressures and they're all fine, I can't wait to solve it and if I can't then it's going up for sale.
