key fob help please

Postby woodhead » Thu Aug 09, 2007 6:02 pm

Hi. Having trouble programming key fob on mk6 transit.
Tried programming one to my transit but couldn't get it to work, so tried one from my other transit and that worked fine, then tried one from the 1st transit on the 2nd but that one wont work. Then tried another key fob on the 1st transit and that one wont work.
So now i have one fob that works on both transits, one that only works on one, and two that wont work either, both the ones that dont work are 2nd hand so could be faulty, but why wont the one from the 1st transit work on the 2nd.
Hope this isn't too confusing and any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks Mick

Bit hard to follow what your saying there but you obviously now the routine to start programing.

All i can say on the subject is if you want 2 fobs to be programed to 1 van then they have to be done at the same time.

I bought a new fob, followed the programing instructions and it worked great. When i came to use my origional fob, no joy :( Once i programed them together everything worked fine :)

Just a last thought, are the batteries good in all the remotes?

I’ll try to make it a little clearer :?:
Two transits 1 and 2 with key fobs A and B
Two more key fobs C and D (not programmed to either van)
Key fob B will program to vans 1 and 2
Key fob A will only program to van 1
Key fob C and D will not program to either van.

Am I right in thinking that when you program a key fob you have to reprogram all the key fobs at the same time or can you add up to 4 key fobs separately and if so do you have to clear them to add others :?:

Had some problems with this post yesterday, it kept saying error and couldn’t post so I kept trying several times before giving up. Just realised that they had posted, sorry about that don’t normally keep posting to get a reply. Mick

Got it sorted, not must not have been pressing the button for long enough for it to register just giving a quick press and then releasing.
