Immobiliser/Fuse Problem??

Postby sheepy88 » Wed Aug 29, 2018 9:23 pm

Hi People

Looking for any suggestions to a problem on 2001 TRANSIT 350MWB HIROOF 90HP

Has been running fine no issues at all starting first time etc. then tonight i turned off van jumped out to put something in side door and was locked. I placed key in passenger door and turned back and forth a couple of times until central locking unlocked door. Jumped back in put key in ignition and van was totally dead not turning over at all no light on dash etc just little red light beside clock flashing.

I got out tried central locking again but wasnt working only working one door at a time with key, then tried sticking jump leads on and dash lit up but van would not turn over just ticking at starter.

Anyone any suggestions? Don't think its battery as van was running perfect and was only switched off for 30 seconds, think ive done something with the central locking either blown a fuse or stuck on the immobiliser.

Any help would be much appreciated?

Cheers

I was going to post here, but I read something in another post that makes me reluctant to say anything. Anyone want to make any suggestions? Anyone with more experience that might not get a bollocking lol. To me it appears as if your immobiliser isn't switching off!

Either a dead battery or poorly earth...or both.

As above, or maybe even a faulty ignition switch.

Immobiliser won't stop the ignition lights coming or, or affect the central locking :?

Hi Guys

Thanks for the help, turns out it was just a poor connection on the negative side of battery, gave it a clean greased it up and tightened it and running like a dream again.
