Small diesel leak from fuel pump....

Postby RussRST » Sat Sep 08, 2018 12:11 pm

Ok so i have a small diesel leak which is leaving diesel on the floor. It looks like its building up on the gear box then dripping off. It seems to be coming from the fuel pump area but i've stared at it for ages and its very rare to catch a single drip.

Is it common for them to leak? I'm guessing they are not cheap new so was thinking of getting a decent condition used one off ebay and swapping them over? I did have a garage check it over before needing to make a long journey and they pointed out it seems to be the pump but not leaking bad enough to worry about the journey now i'm back i just want it sorted.

Took it for a drive and lights still haven't come on for egr problem i found a blow fuse so hopefully that's all sorted. Still seems to be seeping diesel and all around that hose connector is dry so it must be coming from under the pump or the seal into the engine. Might just leave it for a garage to sort out.
