Loss of Power but not EGR(?)

Postby DrMorgs » Mon Sep 10, 2018 9:15 pm

Sorry if this has been answered somewhere else but..... My problem is intermittent loss of power. All's well but after a while the acceleration is pathetic. Give it a minute and it might kick back in, then drop off and so on.

Everything I've read points to the EGR, but diagnostic check at local garage says "P1250 - Fuel Pressure Solenoid Valve" and they want to replace at a cost of approx £300. Must admit I'm no expert but something doesn't sound right.

Any opinions? Does this sound likely? Should I be checking anything else before I shell out to replace?

It's a 2.4 duratorq, 2010 xlwb (ex police riot van!)

Sounds like a duff PRV, (Pressure Reliefe Valve), which is often caused by a faulty SCV, (Suction Control Valve). Best to replace both and run a full set of learns...and a PCM software update if required.
