So you have put a mk7 AWD box into a mk6?
As said, they stoped making county conversions after the mk5.
County conversions used all there own special drive train parts which are mostly now not available. They also lifted the vehicle considerably.
My understanding of the mk7 is that it is, not a conversion to 4x4 as such,
It's an AWD system developed by MJAllen "county" and Ford which uses hydraulic clutches to activate drive to each front wheel individually. see here.
https://m.awdwiki.com/en/ford+europe/This is not what I am trying to do.
I want 4x4 but not just AWD.
For me the difference is having an operator selectable 4wd system which gives low ratio drive. Which the "4X4" AWD transits can't do.
But there are enough examples of proper 4x4 transits that folk have converted but they predominantly use other manufacturers complete drive train.
I'm trying to do this with minimal specialist or non "Ford brand" components.
This is why I chose the ranger parts as all the technical bits need very little changing/modifying and mostly only fabrication of items such as the chassis spacers, supports, linkages etc which have been made by me.
The way the AWD gearbox is designed, and front wheels are driven, it does not foul the std oil filter.
But back to the galleries. It's easiest seen here in both pages from 1st the transit and 2nd the ranger parts lists item 6L710
2.4 mk7ranger 2.2/3.2I hope I don't sound ungrateful as I'm happy to hear and discuss any suggestions, and the ranger housing is a good call, thank you again.
But through my research I can't find any that are a direct bolt onto a 2.4 puma engine.
But I'm happy to be wrong
