Well that was pants! Ended up working late on Friday so never got to pick up the propshaft, but after getting home on Sunday (weekend away camping) I dropped the front diff out of its mounts in preparation to reseal the extention tube, flush & clean internals and replace the shaft seals ready for the shafts turning up so I can rebuild the CVs and put it all in properly.
Also had a look under the 3.2 to see if there's any differences between the two.
There is, but not much that'll make a difference I reckon, just need to decide if I'm using it's own subframe or swap in my already modified one.
What I have noticed is there's no ballast weight in the engine crossmember on the 3.2

So took delivery of a set of long shafts today
Just need time to get everything assembled and fitted now, still need to modify the stator rings for the front ABS to fit the ranger CV joint. Reassemble the diff with new seals and collect the propshaft. Aiming for Friday if not the wknd.

Woohoo :D

Are you going to mod the front diff position on the new one?
I remember you pointing out it still sat at slight angle.

6no it'll be pretty much the same on 3244 I'm not going to start redesigning just yet, will see how it goes for a while, if I lift it much more I run into other issues I need to deal with like steering pipes and longer brake lines etc. So for now it's going to be a straight swap when it's ready.

So popped past the scrapped the other day but only one van with a 3.73 diff an it's done 140k so would probably end up rebuilding it or mine.
Then made a house call and received a bonus parts stock from the Lothians previously premiere private preloved parts stockist of transit bits.

Tonight I've finally managed to get some time to get working on the drive shafts. A couple of the lads were working late so I took my chance to get on the lathe, made a dolly carrier to hold the ABS rings while I took about 2mm out the centre of them.
Worked a treat and was tight enough that I didn't even have to secure it into the dolly as long as I took small cuts.

First one on and looks good, just need to find the second new one I'd bought as it wasn't in the safe box of bits I'd put everything into and stashed away.
So raked the van and all the other likely places but the second ring has done a bunk. I do have some old ones I've turned down too as spares but would rather find the other new one that I know I've got somewhere

If I find the other ring ill get a vid of it while it's getting it's hole oppened, more rimmed, than smashed in though

First pic is the ABS ring tapped into the dolly mafe to hold it so i can turn the iner diamiter in the lathe without distorting it as it's so thin.

Second pic is one outer CV on Lhs with new ABS ring and RH one is a std ranger shaft without ABS ring

Might be getting a wee unit myself, but only renting, and nowhere like the size of sjed at the bottom of your garden, so I'm in the market for a lathe and a mill. Would get up to all sorts of no good with those just keeping an eye on fb, eBay and the likes to see what comes up.

Ight now I'm currently rearranging the van to see if I can unearth the elusive second ABS ring
