Woohoo!!
Major leap forward tonight, got the code written over the last few nights/weeks sitting late into the wee hours at the dining table. And tonight I took off the selector on the gearbox tried it to see if it worked and to set up the parameters in the program to make it start and stop in the right positions.
Will need to double check it before bolting it on properly and installing the electronics in the cab
But I have high hopes
Then it's just the front diff hardwear and suspension spacers to finish and yeehaa.

Great news Mr. A!

I did wonder when you were ever going to get that little job finished.

Haven't done a damned thing with any of my stuff: as soon as I show any inclination to start anything, 'er indoors comes up with a list of more urgent things.....

So another late one last night and suddenly got worried it was later than I thought till I realised the clocks had changed
Anyway since I've got it basicaly working it's time to start the proper install.
Opened up the hi-spec clocks I've had sitting for a while and fitted the range shift LEDs. ImageImageImageImageImage
Then set about building the PCB assembly that will be boxed and mounted somewhere under the dash. Image
Yes the power supply board. Buck transformer for bringing it down to a stable voltage of 5.5v is bigger than the Adafruit arduino pro trinket that's doing all the magikery
All looks good so far and added some extra bits for functions I want to include in the final programming, like a main control relay, and another relay for turning ESP off automatically when you switch out of 2wd and the on again when changing out of 4wd into 2wd. ImageImage
Feel like I've made another major leap forward though it doesnt look like much but will be great once I get it hooked into the van proper. Image

Well first vehicle trial today after work.

Over a few late nights been changing program around a bit more and finishing off the circuit board wiring to get it to a state to try it in the van proper.
So today was the day, spent lunchtime tweaking the parameters and a few more times before bolting selector motor back onto gearbox and trying it, had to adjust again but all seams to be going through the gears.
I now have a 12speed forward 2speed reverse mk7 transit
Image
Need to make some minor wiring changes and the shift program will go through a few more versions before I'm happy but the fact that it's changing and the lights in the new clocks work is just a little satisfying and mildly exciting
It's still untidy but it proves the system.
Now just to box up the circuit boards, make all the wiring permanent the get the front axle in and live. Can't bloody wait!
Hoping to have it done for out wedding anniversary on the 18th may when she's at home an I'll hopefully be at mania ImageImage

You won't be at 'mania pal, you'll be at the side of the road....
