So got the front up to match the back last wknd.
Think it sits a lot better now, not so worried about ripping the arse out the fuel tank now but still want to gst a better fitting one.
Anyone know of other off the shelf options before I start building my own?
Anyway, back to the lift....
Stripped the front struts out, removed the original spacers, cut them up and built up the new longer ones.
Fitted it all and checked clearances etc, found the steering rod just rubs the wishbone on full lock so don't recommend lifting any more than about 75mm in the future rather than 80mm with a 50mm subframe drop.
Also found the brake rubber is too short so need to move the bracket down a bit and bend the copper pipe slightly, which was not an issue when it's been replaced in recent years, not so good if it's not.
Needless to say the drivers side cracked and started leaking so a bit of late night head scratching (1am on Sun night/Mon morning
) and remembered I'd bought spare rear hoses when doing her vans brake lines so dug them out joined them together, fitted a new ferule nut and flared the pipe end further back gave it a quick bleed and all's good,
got some new pipe ready for its next time on the ramps to get the full pipe changed when I'm fitting the diff.
Also checked out with the local propshaft guy and he's checking on new options for the front drive shafts.
Hoping to have it all fitted up for mania in a few weeks
