Any ideas please

Hi everyone,
My Transit Mk7 seems to have an electrical problem.
1. The wipers start when the ignition key is turned (wiper switch in off position) and after a few swipes they just stop where they want and not in the 'home' position
2. Power windows wont work but the motors, switches and relay are fine with power to them.
3. whilst cleaning I just touched the indicator stalk and this caused all the lights /display on the instrument panel to flash for a few seconds.
4. Key fob not working
5. cigar lighter socket in centre of dashboard fuse keeps blowing.

Could this all be caused by one thing? A friend suspects an earth fault. If it is an earth fault, where should he look?
