Mk6 got stuck in first gear now ok

Postby acegarp » Thu Sep 20, 2018 12:48 pm

Hi
Problem with a mk6 Transit, occasionally I have to pump the clutch pedal as the bite point gets a little low, master cylinder on the way out maybe? Today though was in traffic, changed down to first, sat with foot on clutch, came to take it out of first and was stuck, stalled it, pumped the clutch, started back up and no problems changing gear so far. Would this be caused by a failing master cylinder or something else, thanks in advance for any information.

If it's fwd it could be the slave cylinder inside the gearbox or the slave at the pedal under the dash so check for leaks between the engine and gearbox mating surface and at the clutch pedal. Try and bleed it first incase it's just air in the pipe
