no heat from heater

Postby badger the welder » Wed Sep 26, 2018 9:43 pm

Hi guys, I have a transit mk7 ex RAC. I went to use the heater today and there was just mildly warm air coming thru. I thought it would be a cable off so I took part of the dash apart to find the heater switch is electrical not cable so my question is......... I hear no noises of motors whirring as if to close a vent or open a valve etc.......what do I need to do to fix my problem ?

Thanks in advance guys

There's an electric blend door motor which usually gives up, lives on the side of the heater box

Can you point me to a post on the forum where someone describes how to tackle the job and what needs to be taken apart because I will probably end up taking more than I need apart to get in there lol.
Do you know where I can buy the part you mentioned ?

I'm in Sydney so probably not much help....you could try a scrappy. I think it's just a glovebox out job....but still difficult to get at after that.

Aye glove box oot and the front surround part of dash makes it easier to get at, not a hard job but footery , the motors expensive....best part of £200 and like hens teeth oot of scrap yards mate...... Never feer there's one you can get out of scrap mk2 Galaxy's only it's white and has a different spindle but its easily swapped over and they're on ebay for around £20Image

Take a picture of the rods and spring so you know how it goes back on , you'll need to wrestle the heater ducting out, and its small torx screws that holds the motor and cover on

mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD
mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

Hi guys, quick update for ya. I have fixed the problem with the heater and it was the blender thingamajig heater control servo motor.......... Now if your experiencing the same problem click on this linkhttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FOMOCO-Heate ... :rk:1:pf:1 and you can buy a ford unit that will bolt straight in with no messing at a snip of the price of what you would pay here in the UK. I took a chance that it would work and it did
