P121c fault code

Postby Casperchi » Tue Oct 02, 2018 1:02 pm

I have a 2007 2.2 transit, was running lovely until suddenly the yellow cog light came on and the van went into limp mode. Turned ignition off and back on and all fine for a few days then the same thing happened. took the van and had it updated on ids and been perfect for 2 weeks until last night when the yellow cog light came on and again the van went into limp mode. Turned off and back on and is running fine, and idling with no issues. But randomly the light comes on and it goes into limp mode. Put on a computer to read the faults and only got p121c, phoned some local injector specialists and been told I need a whole new set of injectors and a prv/scv.
Is this the case or are they just trying to get rich quick in time for Christmas?
Any help would be much appreciated

How many miles on your van..??

An injector leak-off test will give a general idea of injector condition.

Sorry for the late reply, the van has done 172k, I had the injectors tested and it came back they were all leaking, so had them all replaced and everything cleaned out with new washers and seals. Just took the van out for a drive and it went funny and power train light came on, got in contact with the person that done all the injectors and he’s now saying I need a new valve on the pump, which is another £150. Feels like I’m going around in circles.
