As a courier thats worked for most firms I remove a livery at least once every 2 years. And I hate doing it.
Glue and tar remover is good, Isopropanol is better. Apply either with a rag to the reisdue and then use a cloth that has a thicker weave than a duster (like an old style dishcloth) to rub the stuff off as it will take more off with each stroke. Dont forget to wash the van well after as I've known paint to react if its left on there. Nothing too serious but it reflects light differently in the sun to the rest of the paint and water runs off it differently in the rain, if that makes sense.
It might want some t-cut or a mop after you get the gunk off as you will still be able to see what the old stickers said in the paint what with paint fading due to the sun. I spent ages t-cutting mine back to remove the UK Mail livery and like BJT says I can still see it in a certain light.
Im not having any more livery on my vans (like it says below!) as its too much of a bugger to remove.
