D.I.Y dpf cleaning

Postby oldyellar » Sun Oct 14, 2018 6:15 pm

I've a euro5 fwd Mk7 and it's jumping into limp mode and throwing up dpf codes it's done 120k and around a month ago a employee put petrol in it and ran it till it cut out.
I think this has caused the dpf issues.

I'm planning on Removing the dpf and having a go at cleaning it.

I'm looking for advice on Removing it from the van first of all.

Thanks

I used a spray foam stuff that you sprayed in through the pressure sensor tube. Worked well on her qashqai without removing it.

Sprayed it in, let it idle 15mins , take it for a enthusiastic run for 30mins, then done a forced regen.

Been ok for 2years.

Silver can, nor-something?

Most transit dpf issues are sure to a faulty vaporiser or wiring.

Didn't even know you could get that stuff.
I don't know much about the dpf last one that went bad on the 14 plate I just had it done away with.

I’m sure I only paid about £20 for it :?

It goes in the front pressure sensor tube before the dpf.

I don’t actually know where that is on the transits? I’ve only used it on her qq :D

Interested to see how you get on with that, as gutting a DPF should throw up a P244A code, and put it in limp mode :?

The ones I’ve seen being cleaned is basically just firing the jet wash through it!
