3 lights on dash since towing digger n trailer

Postby Nathan1980 » Mon Oct 15, 2018 6:06 pm

Hi all. I have a 2008 swb 85 t280. Never had a problem until now. I hired a digger and trailer, when I hooked up and plugged in, engine still running, it through on the abs light, esp light and a cog with an exclamation mark in. It still drive fine so I went on my way as the job was only around the corner. The plug on my tow bar is a lil Ropey so assumed it might be that that’s caused my dash to light up. Un hitched the trailer once returned it, engine of and the lights where off. They stay off for a while and van drives fine but when I brake now, all 3 lights come back on until engine is switched off. They stay off until I brake but on or of, van drives spot on. Could my ropey plug or a dodgey trailer have caused this? Thanks guys

You need to get the codes read....guessing can become very expensive.

Check that your brake lights still work, the fuse may have blown

And no 85 ps Transit is plated to tow a digger and trailer!

Might just be a mini digger , train weight is 3500kg and empty swb won't be over 2000kg so you have 1500kg to play with mate
and they tow better than you think

it doesnt go on empty van mate they go on what your max weight could be
so if you van is a 260 you have 900kg max and a 280 only has 700kgs
