HELP please

Postby Steve192 » Mon Oct 15, 2018 8:57 pm

Hello,

So, tonight me and friend changed the clutch and dual mass on my 2012 2.2 fwd transit euro5.

Everything went fine until after we’d put everything back together it wouldn’t start. Checked everything was plugged back in etc.

Done a diagnostic and nothing coming up.

Then we checked the feul cut off switch (yellow thing behind glove box) that’s was up so we pushed it back in. Still not firing.

Then we sprayed some flammable electric connector cleaner in and it fire for 2 seconds then died. Then we tried again and it would fire up at all.

It’s now showing crankshaft sensor fault.

I’ve ordered a new for collection tomorrow morning.

Just wondering if it could possible be the feul cut off not properly reset? As it fired for 2 seconds with basically easy start and died. So it had enough of a reading prior on the crankshaft sensor to start.

Seems strange that it didn’t show any faults before then 2 minutes later it was showing the crankshaft sensor.

The crank sensor wires are not trapped between the engine and gearbox :?: Did you turn the engie backwards as the timing chain can jump
On the sixth day God created a Sprinter on the seventh he gave it away and bought a TRANSIT

Managed to get it going. Wasn’t any wires trapped as we hooked them out the way. Bought a new crank sensor and tried that still no luck.

Turns out that the crank sensors are adjustable so we used the old crank sensor and kept moving it out till it ran.

Now runs mint
