unusual noise

My van ( 2005 Mk6 swb fwd) has an unusual noise from front near side when I reverse on full lock. I don't think it is CV. It is more of a clonk clonk clonk, not loud but feels as though something is trying to lift. I know its awkward to diagnose noises just by description but was wondering in it could be a drop link? any suggestions ( nice ones please ) as to what I could check.
