Where to get a 2.4 engine, and possibly a 6 speed box?

Postby heartworm » Tue Oct 16, 2018 8:14 pm

My 2.4 tdci has given up on me, where is the best place to get a reconditioned/rebuilt engine from, where are the trusted suppliers?

Also looking to change the gearbox to a 6 speed while the engine is out as currently running around with a 5 speed box, and on the motorway would like a little more refinement.

Mrk 7 minibus, from when they first came out so the 2.4 engine with the 5 speed box, would like to change the box while changing the engine. Think it has bottom end failure.

I think the 6 speed box just gives a better spread of gear ratios as the top gear on both gearboxes are the same ratio so to get an improvement you’ll need to do the axle ratio as well you maybe be better off looking for a Complete van with no mot or a damaged repairable to get all the parts you need if your van has a good body and worth doing

ah cool no problem regarding the gear box, is there a reputable source for an engine, would rather go with someone with some decent reviews rather than a random ebay purchase.
