Finally sourced a 3.73 axle. It's been reconditioned apparently so should be good for a few years.
What's the length of time needed to swap the entire axle?

Well, after a few weeks of organising, some waiting, more delays and now rest I’m in Spain after having driven the van with a super axel ratio of 3.73. It transforms the van and performs more like a large car.
Thanks for the recommendations.
Bought reconditioned axel off eBay.
Had it shipped but was out so delivery company stored it.
Collected and took to garage.
Garage couldn’t fit it in for a couple of weeks.
Estimated four hours fitting. Took eight!
Driving it is great but I now need to sort the new rear discs as all four of the pads are only active on the outer rim of each side of the new disks.
All in all, a good time ratio that cost quite a fair bit!

Correction: reconditioned differential - not axle!

The axle itself was corroded and needed time removing seized and rusted bolts everywhere as well as swapping the worn bearings apparently.

Perhaps I would have saved money buying a more expensive reconditioned axle? What do these go for?
