Passenger side lock

This may sound daft but it seems the passenger side door on 07 transit tipper deadlocks itself even when it’s unplugged?

Was stuck deadlocked first time I locked it after buying it so got a second hand lock mechanism and fitted it which worked fine for over a month, then it decided to deadlock itself again a week ago took doorcard off and freed it and it lasted a few days, decided to free it up again today and leave it unplugged and lock it manually from inside with the switch, which was fine first couple of tries, went back to it a bit later and seems deadlocked again won’t open from inside? Resorted to running around with door card off as sick of having to get out of van to let workmate in or out

Turns out it’s actually the door handle that’s knackered causing the rod that pulls on the lock to stick in the up position, this mimicked it being deadlocked as inside handle won’t open door either. Putting it up here in case anyone in future searching for has similar problem.
