not getting full boost

hi chaps, any one got any ideas why I wouldn't be getting full boost. had all filters changed, new map sensor fitted. no codes are appearing. its mk7 2.4tdci t330 ex rac. 91k on clock. noticed problem when towing caravan, don't normally need to change gear on motorway on slight incline but found myself changing to 3rd foot flat to floor telling wife to get out and push. any thoughts appreciated

What code reader are you using..?? What ps engine..?? 100, 115 or 140..??

A duff EGR will cause all sorts or gremlins. If 100 or 115, check the waste-gate for correct operation. If 140, check electronic actuator and it's link arm.

Would throw an "Underboost" code wouldn't it..?? Mine did..

100 ps. and it went to local garage for fixing so don't know what code reader.

Mine did not but the split was only an inch long and hidden from view until you removed the pipe.

Fair call...mine was about 4" split at the back of the passenger side pipe to the manifold, had a hard time finding it.

Ok, so a 100 will have a wastegated turbo, just make sure your boost pipes, intercooler and wastegate actuator/arm are all in good shape.

all fixed now, actuator arm was seized. thanks knobby.
