Transit Washer Works when bonnet open not closed!!!

Postby huxleypig » Fri Nov 02, 2018 11:30 pm

Hi guys

I have an 09 Transit 110 T330M FWD

Had this for six months - no problems.

Opened bonnet last week to check oil, water etc.
Got back in and the door open red light is on.
Tried washer bottle - not working.
Opened bonnet tonight, pressed washer - now works but stops working when bonnet is shut.

Any ideas

Many Thanks

Check to make sure the washer line isn't being crushed as you close the bonnet.

Can you hear the washer motor operating when the bonnet is closed??

Thanks for advice.
Washer motor is working but no water coming out.
Line is fine no crushing.
Think its to do with the door open warning light??

Would this override the washer bottle working??

Yuip that's the very one , not sure about the actual legality of it now with us being oot the EU, but i suppose it's down to what type of screen wash you use really whither is legal or not

I had this today on my way to PSV, not ideal. It was the first time I had drove the van. It turned out that the water pipe going to the washers was routed between the inner panel of the bonnet and the air intake. It was meant to be routed through a grommet into the cavity in the bonnet and avoid getting crushed when the bonnet is closed.
