Am I Missing weather protection Hub covers

Postby Marauder » Sat Nov 10, 2018 2:58 pm

2008 SWB 2.2 fwd, A quick question, now I have replaced rear Hubs, discs etc. It seems strange that the centre of the Hubs either front or rear have no covers over the ends to protect the bearings from the weather ! " Should there be some covers either plastic or Metal that push into the end of the Hubs" to protect from the rain /dirt like what they fitted years ago...…… "Please note I do not mean the black plastic covers that go into the centre of the road wheels."
Ford Transit 280 SWB,,Year 2008,,2.2,, If it can,t be fixed/repaired/ with a 4 pound lump hammer then it must be an electrical problem.

They use sealed bearings so a seperate cover is not required.
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD
mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

Even though they are not required I am looking for some that fit just to make the hubs look neat and tidy :D

If I cant find any I will have a go at turning 4 out of alloy on my Myford Lathe, Interference fit so I can just tap them in the ends, :)
