Cooling fans not connected

Postby tazmayne » Sat Nov 10, 2018 5:28 pm

2009 115 T350 transit - cooling fans are not connected and appear to be missing a relay/connector on back of fan unit. Van runs fine and have no issues with overheating so a) should i worry about it? and b) what do I need to replace?

Front or Rear wheel drive ?
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD
mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

Twin fans with air-con - cable from both fans not connected and what appears to be supply hanging free - looks like there should be a connector block that all tyre go to mounted on back of fan casing. As I said before, van has never overheated (even over the summer heat and sitting on M25 for an hour) so not panicked about it. Van also has a 700watt inverter system fitted so was wondering if maybe someone had disconnected fans due to power issues?

Ditto, and I'm guessing that the aircon doesn't work either :?:

Yeah i was just about to ask that mate ,
You never know it might have sort of home made wiring in its place.......and if its not working i could do with some of his aircon parts if they're for sale

Had van for nearly 18 months and had no issues - runs fine. Only asking cos just had a service done and mechanic noticed fans weren't connected - tho he was rather surprised I hadn't overheated at any point.
