Ford Transit MK7 2.2 timing chain

Postby transit1160 » Mon Nov 12, 2018 2:52 am

Hello guys,
I need an opinion, has anyone ever fitted HANSWERK brand timing chain kit to their transits? It looks like a high quality timing chain kit not like some Chinese made sh#t. one of the distributor claimed that they sold a lot of these chains and never heard any issues of snapped chain. I’m planning to buy this brand of chain rather than FAI since I read there's few issues regarding FAI chains. But the tensioner I will use a genuine one. I want to use a genuine chain however, dealer in my country selling these chains almost as same cost as a used transit. I inquired a genuine chain kit from UK via eBay but they couldn’t ship it to my country. My transit developed a rattling chain noise during cold start so I’m thinking to replace it. Appreciate your help on this

I think I’ve read on hear that the chains don’t wear a lot and it’s mainly the plastic chain Guide and adjuster that wear out letting the chain go slack and rely on the oil pressure side to tension the chain on start up that was for the 2-4 mk6 maybe 2-2 is the same

Yes. I believe so. So now in still thinking of using the old chain with new guides and genuine tensioner. I bought the hanswerk timing chain kit which include the sprockets and tensioner. But i definitely will use genuine tensioner. Im thinking of using the new chain as it was assured that there's no incident of their chain snapped. In a dilemma now lol
