Mk6 transit immobilizer light flashing 2 then 3 times.

Postby Jonoking » Tue Nov 13, 2018 9:32 pm

Hi guys,

My transit has immobilizer light flashing fast and won’t start. When left alone for a few minutes, it’s has 2 flashes then 3. I’ve read a lot of posts on this error and not sure where to start.
I changed the fuel pump module less than a year ago and it has been intermittent starting since then. A bit of Russian roulette to be honest.

Any ideas?

Transit mk6's are NOT OBDII compliant. No Generic OBDII device will communicate with them.

Engine cranks over but fails to start & PATS LED flashing code 23.
- Communication between the fuel pump (EDC)t & PCM has failed.

Check wiring to fuel pump. If ok suspect fuel pump EDC has failed.

As said above.

Carefully check the pump wiring where it turns around the starter, one or more wires may be broken internally :)

Thanks for all the input guys. Locksmith came around with code reader. Hey cut a new key, reset the rim( I think this is virginising the fuel pump) programmed the new key and it started. Old key is throw away. Took him an hour to do it.
Van runs again phew!
