removing bent track rod

how do i remove this?
doesnt seem to have any flat edges to put spanner on.
also track rod is flapping and freely spins in socket.

Ford factory manual suggests that original tie rod nuts are round as yours is, a replacement item has flats on it so you can do it up to 120Nm.
I'd remove the entire rack so you can get to it more easily.
Don't clamp the casing as it is soft and easily bent.
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

in the end i used mole grips and a pipe for leverage.
i suggest to anyone with their head under the wheel
arch when going this wears a padded hat.
grips slipped first time.
As for how it happened.i regularly drive through 7ft
width restrictions with no problems.
unfortunately the last one had three bars either side
and the slightest clip of the wheel hub did the rest.
