Reconditioned engine or Replacement MK7?

Postby Sparky0196666 » Sat Sep 22, 2018 8:33 am

I'm in need of a reconditioned engine or replacement engine. Don't know what's best. Anyone got any idea of reputable reconditioners or dealers to sort. Thanks

I think the injector 2 overfueled and now a compression issue in chamber. Mechanic seems to think best to overhaul it.

MK7 140 sport engine needed.... any reliable sellers?

Postby Sparky0196666 » Mon Jan 14, 2019 10:58 pm

Hi all.

Does anyone know of any reliable reconditioned engines for MK7 140 sport? The Internet seems a minefield so any help would be gratefully received.

Thank you

Yours needs stripping to see if there is serious damage then decide if it needs recon.

I expect finding a genuine 140 engine will be like looking for hens dentures.

And you'll be questioning it's reliability.

You will want to check your injectors too, or if you find an engine with proven mileage and leak off test the injectors etc and new valves and updates with diagnostics.

Few quid me thinks :(
56 350 2.2 130ps mk7 with 2 side doors 8)
65 290 2.2 125ps custom with 2 side doors 8)
07 350 170ps
Ids v86 licence + v86.04 update + xprog here
Ids map here

You'll be lucky, just get any 100ps or above low mileage engine and put your turbo and injectors on it if they're ok

Did you check out my solution to your problem mate , will be easier to find a lower ps engine at decent miles as long as its 100ps or higher you can use it's injectors if yours are fooked and only need to change to your electronic turbo onto new engine
I put a rod through the block of ma 130
Got a 60k mileage 100ps put my turbo on and there's no difference in performance mate

I have an engine taken out of my 2010 2.4 350 lwb, according to the vehicles history its only done 40000 miles, the bad news is that it was diagnosed with an unknown cylinder head fault, that sounded like faulty tappets, started and ran perfectly with no smoke, but as the noise got worse, my mechanic wanted to take the head off to investigate, and possibly fit a new head, as i couldnt afford to have it off the road for two weeks i made the decision to fit another engine that i had, so the old one is up for grabs.

Really appreciate your advice. I have a brand new set of injectors so hopefully if my turbo is OK this could be possibility. Thanks again for your help.
