Not done it myself, but was curious enough to look it up in the Haynes Manual. It reckons you have to remove the inlet manifold, though I assume that's for access from the top.

From the viewing angle, it almost looks like you could reach up (a long way) from underneath the vehicle and do it by feel. It appears to be dead center at the top of the engine above the bell housing...not ideal I know. That suggestion to cut the sensor wiring makes me cry.

Maybe one of the pros can give more info. :D

Thanks for the reply I’m in no rush sensor dosnt come for a couple of days so I’ll see what suggestions are given from under neath you have to practically stick your head up there to see it then u can’t just guide your hand as them pipes are in the way. One of the bolts in the pipes has also decided to seize so can’t remove them .

I was thinking maybe go from above and remove the cam cover see if that give me any more room to play with
But I was hoping Some mine have a trick to make life easy never know

For CHT sensor dreplacement is necessary special 80 -100 mm high socket 15mm with slit for wire. You can do it yourself using angle grinder.
On thread of new sensor use white ceramic paste - never copper!

That means removing the injectors.

The sensor apparently gets deformed when you fit it and should not be re-used, according to ford.
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD
mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

Remove the fan ,place a jack under the engine x member loosen the bolts on the x member drop the engine and you can play football between the engine and bulkhead  A 15 mm spanner will do the job that way :)
On the sixth day God created a Sprinter on the seventh he gave it away and bought a TRANSIT

That actually sounds completely reasonable. Just four bolts on the cross member, engine should "lean" forwards and give pretty good access. Keeping in mind it's still hanging on the steering/transmission cross member mounted further back. I may employ this method for some tom-foolery later on. :D
