Water / vacuum pump

Hi all
Very new to transit ownership and on a very tight budget
2004 swb T280 85 2.0l
I need to replace the Vacuum pump and have purchased a second hand complete water / vacuum pump
The gaskets are only available from ford direct at £45.00 where as the gaskets for the same van with a 2.4 engine are available everywhere for around £12.00
Does anyone know if these are compatible
Also whilst in the engine bay i noticed a crack In the egr pipe was chuffing out smoke - can these be repaired with a chemical metal ?
Or if I block it off does it go at the front on the valve or at the rear near the manifold
