BCMII swap

Postby Hbanko » Mon Apr 15, 2019 11:00 am

Hi,

I got a replacement BCM from a high spec transit and need to swap it with my existing one.

Could not find any procedures documented anywhere. Got Forscan with an USB adapter up and running. Settings can be downloaded/changed. But I do not believe I can just write my old settings into the new BCM? I a well aware that I will need to code the keys.

Any pointers?

Do more googling there's loads of info about this on here.
Download asbuilt file from Ford motorcraft ( If it's still available?)
Suck and store old parameters from original BCM if no ehicle issues/faults otherwise you'll import them to your new BCM
Instal new BCM as if blank new unit
Initialize and upload config decide keys an off you go.

Thanks mate! Unfortunately asbuilt doesn't seem to work anymore. Not sure if I need it - I can see all the options the BCM let me configure?

Hi Guys,

Still haven't changed my BCMII over but the next vacation is only 3 weeks away and I should better work on this. Otherwise there still won't be any cruise control.

My blocker at this stage is that I can't get the "as built" data. It doesn't seem to be possible to get from from Motocraft.

Any other sources?
