Mk. 6 rear hub oil seal replacement

Postby eugenemccabe101 » Thu Apr 18, 2019 9:28 pm

Hi all, I'm looking for advise on replacing the rear hub seals on my 2005 single RWD minibus. I've striped off the brake shoes and removed the 6 x 14mm nuts at the back. I thought these may have been holding the hub on but they just seem to hold the plate for the brakes. How does the halfshaft come out??

There's a c clip in the diff need to take the cover of the diff.

When we had our mark 6 it had a recall so was fitted with a plastic cage to hold the c clip in as they could fall out the half shaft goes it own way as what happened to us on a corner at 50 mph.
