Got oil in the charge pipe/ inter cooler pipe

Postby Mr_JDM » Mon Apr 22, 2019 6:43 am

Hi everyone!
I try to clean the EGR valve and find out oil/carbon in the charge pipe (fr EGR to intercooler) and the inlet pipe from the other end of the intercooler. As well as the intercooler inside got oil as well.
I can clean or change the new pipe but how do we avoid oil in these area in future?
Thanks

Its usualy from crank case breather.
You can 're route it and put in a "catch can" breather filter which then vents to atmosphere and block the port on the intake. or conect back to intake.
Couple of others on here done it before.
EGR if it's a mk6 just blank it off. Pleanty plates on the web for much cheapness.

Thanks. My van is 2005 VJ deisel MK6. Did you mean to blank if Off and no need to "catch can" ? Or do both ?

I mounted mine on the slam panel, takes about 5 minutes to fit, you will need a 16mm I/D pipe to fit on the rocker cover to the catch can, I bought a meter for 2 sovs, then either vent back to the engine or to the atmosphere.

I fitted a small breather filter to the inlet pipe where it would have gone on to the rocker cover.

I'll get a picture in a minute.
