I have standard 15 inch wheels on my 05 transit
What would be the widest tyres I would be able
To fit to them ?

I have 225x65x16 on my 5.5 16in wheels...look normal and are wearing well. Standard are 205x75x16.

8) I have 225 70 15 on my 8" wheels :shock: I would have gone for 235's but with a 4" back space they stick out a wee bit.

In link below is given table drafted by Goodyear - in table are all sizes of tyres offered on market. For each tyre with diameter, width and profile - is given recommended minimal, optimal and maximal width wheel rim, for correct and safety tyre work.
So - for wheel rim 5,5x15" it can be taken widest possible tyre size 205/75R15, 205/70R15, 205/65R15, 205/60R15, 205/55R15, 205/50R15. Moving on - for tyre 205/45R15 should be used wheel rim minimum 6,5x15".
