2010 Transit mk7 2.2 losing power

Postby Mickynoakes » Sat Jun 22, 2019 9:19 am

Hi guys, have a couple of issues, not sure if there related or not
First over the past couple of weeks my transit keeps losing power intermittently it will limp along at about 15mph and won’t rev above 1500 rpm and will cut out if left to tick over, but park up for 10 mins and start it again and runs fine again there’s no warning lights and no fault codes stored, it has done it 3 times in the past week.
Also an issue it has had for a while is starts fine when cold but when it’s warm it struggle to turn over it’s almost like the battery is low, but tested battery on a drop tester and seems fine and it’s had a new starter fitted.
Also had turbo cartridge replaced as it was noisy and a reasonable amount of oil in it,

Sorry if description not the best,
Any advice would be gratefully received as rely on van to get to work,
thanks Mike

What code reader was used..? Not all of them work well on Transits.

If it stops for no apparent reason, it will probably have at least one code stored.

I have 2 readers one is cheap fsuper lead with Formidable other is a Delphi DS150E lead, both have been used on a quite a few transits and found engine fault codes, not to say they are perfect but have been reliable so far.

About 6 months ago, but when you try to rev it when it gets to 2000 rpm it’s like when you hit a rev limiter it just won’t any higher but doesn’t splutter or anything

Just wondering is there anyone anywhere near Oxfordshire who has Ids and a good knowledge of transits who would be willing to have a look for a few £££.
Thanks mike
